Art Nouveau enamelled iridescent glass dish by Fritz Heckert German c 1900. Finely enamelled with flowers and leaves. A charming piece.
Fritz Heckert – glassworks in Pietowice (Petersdorf) Silesia Poland (Used to be Germany 1866-1945). Fritz Heckert was a high quality glass finishing house in Petersdorf close to Josephinehutte. They decorated blanks from both Harrach and Josephinenhutte. In around 1886 they opened their own glass making works and by 1900 Fritz Heckert under the leadership of Otto Thamm was making an very large range of metal clad, irridised, and cameo glass. Fritz Heckert was one of the best makers of Art Nouveau glass in the world. Sadly Otto Thamm, son in law to Fritz Heckert, died in 1905. Also known as Petersdorfer Glashutte, Heckert in 1923 merged with Josephinenhutte
